Up is always good. Especially where we drive. That looks like it should work. High steer arms just bolt to the top of the bigger types of axles and this seems to be along those lines.

I'm no expert but I don't see why that wouldn't work. I bent my tie rod pretty bad the same day. Just installed a Ruff stuff tie rod with offset 1 ton ends today. Fit really well and adds some durability but your solution drastically reduces the chance of damage. Those few inches can really make a difference. I'd love to see how this turns out if you do it. Way cheaper than Reid knuckles.

That's one of those parts sitting up front just waiting and asking to be bent. Is the JK tie rod hollow?

Just wondering. I haven't had much experience with the JK.

Yeah they're junk, pretty sure they flex in a stiff head wind.

Another though....
full length drag link, basically in the flip position with the tie rod on the bottom of the same ear with hemi joints of course, that would allow me to keep the same geometry and fully adjustable tie rod with hi steer relatively cheap. Because with the setup above I would only have a 180° turn on hemi joint for adjustment.

George, Did you have to ream the knuckle to fit those TRE? No, according to the guy at Ruff Stuff if you have the Rubicon 44 you shouldn't have to. I didn't, but Danny has a Rubicon and he did so it's a toss up I guess. BTW the 1 ton tie rod ends supposedly won't fit with stock wheels. I have 4.5" backspace wheels and they clear, it's close though.
